INEZ VAN LAMSWEERDE et VINOODH MATADIN
Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin...
english\\\\When Lamusadekafka asked me to write for TFR regarding art, I was not sure if I could write something worth reading for the audience here. Although I really enjoy his text and the pictures of "hedonistic tokyo-fashionistas", I have not really got into fashion myself. However, when Lamusadekafka mentioned "Theory of Obscurity", I suddenly felt that I understood what he was trying to do. I should be coming in on this. I made my mind, and HERE I AM. Here I am to be fucked by hot-intelligent-absurd people....(but please be gentle with me)
I'd like to start with a Dutch photographer, Inez van Lamsweerde, and her partner, Vinoodh Matadin. I got a crush on one picture by them from first glance, but didn't have any clue about the photographer, the model and the concept at all. The model's hair was like a medieval lord, her face was painted all black, body is inorganic like a robot...It was very simple yet figurative... Anyway, I had been trying to find out about the image in vain.
Today, I saw another splendid image by them, and googled "van Lamsweerde" to find out the picture I had been in love was also the creation by them. Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin...
They have been collaborating with many artists around the world and you will be able to see their works in various fashion magazines (Vogue, V, SelfService...etc). But above all, the collaboration with M/M (Paris) is really something else. Simple, delicate and grotesque beautiful as you see in "hidden place" and "Medulla" of Bjork and "Alphamen" series...

the nada, thank you very much for your opinion. yes, i agree with you 100%, and PLUS they are also successful from the perspective of commerce, too. I think it is very difficult to pursue the success in art and commerce at the same time...
The most nice thing in here is the Asian woman with her blue lips, actually I'd like to have a woman who using that kind of lipstick, because they look so different.
